Frequently Asked Questions

About SaidSaid

What is SaidSaid?

SaidSaid is a dating and matchmaking platform built around better information before you connect. You can discover people through profiles, reviews, endorsements, AI-powered match suggestions, and Sparks. You can also help someone you care about find a match through Matchmaking.

SaidSaid is built around the idea that dating should involve more than a photo and a swipe. People can share their experiences, people who know you can vouch for you, and the people who care about you can help you find someone great.

Why is SaidSaid different from other dating apps?

Most dating apps focus primarily on profiles, photos, and swiping. SaidSaid adds information and connections that can help you make a better decision before you meet someone.

SaidSaid combines dating profiles with reviews, endorsements from people who know someone, AI-powered matching, Sparks, and Matchmaking. The goal is to give you more context about a person and more ways to make meaningful connections.

Is SaidSaid a dating app or a matchmaking service?

Both.

You can use SaidSaid to date for yourself, or you can use Matchmaking to help a friend, family member, or someone else you care about find a match.

Is SaidSaid for people 18 and older?

Yes. SaidSaid is an adults-only platform.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction if that age is higher, to use SaidSaid.

Reviews and Endorsements

What are SaidSaid reviews?

Reviews let people share their experiences from dating or interpersonal interactions.

Reviews are intended to give people additional information about someone before they decide whether to connect or meet. Reviews are subject to SaidSaid's Community Guidelines and moderation process.

Who can write a review?

Date reviews must be based on a genuine, firsthand dating or interpersonal experience.

SaidSaid does not allow people to create reviews about someone they have never dated or interacted with. Reviews must follow the Community Guidelines and are screened by AI before publication.

Why does SaidSaid require identity verification to write a review?

SaidSaid requires identity verification before someone can write a date review because reviews are intended to come from real, accountable people.

Identity verification costs $2.99 one time and is handled through the verification and payment providers. Endorsements and other core features remain free.

Are SaidSaid reviews and endorsements anonymous?

Reviews and endorsements are not anonymous.

The person who writes a review or endorsement is identified by their SaidSaid display name. SaidSaid does not require your legal name to be publicly displayed, and users can use a pseudonymous display name.

The goal is accountability without requiring everyone to publicly display their legal name.

How does the 72-hour Right to Respond work?

When someone writes a review or endorsement about you, you are notified and given 72 hours to respond before it is published.

If you respond during that window, the review or endorsement and your response are published together. If you do not respond within 72 hours, the review or endorsement can be published without your response.

You can still report or dispute published content if you believe it violates SaidSaid's rules.

What are endorsements?

Endorsements let friends, family, coworkers, and other people who know you personally vouch for your character and personality.

Unlike a dating review, which is about someone's experience dating you, an endorsement gives people who know you a chance to describe your qualities and what makes you who you are.

Endorsements can include strengths, optional areas for improvement, the type of relationship the endorser has with you, qualities they think would make you a good match, and an optional photo.

Who can endorse me?

People who know you can endorse you, including friends, family members, coworkers, and other people who have a genuine relationship with you.

What are endorsement photos?

An endorser can optionally include a photo with an endorsement.

These photos can help show the person in the context of the relationships and experiences that matter to them. Like other user content, endorsement photos are subject to SaidSaid's moderation rules.

Can I delete a review about me?

You cannot simply delete a review written by someone else.

You can respond to it during the 72-hour Right to Respond period. If the review violates SaidSaid's rules, contains prohibited personal information, or contains false statements of fact, you can flag or dispute it for review.

Does SaidSaid guarantee that reviews or endorsements are accurate?

No.

Reviews and endorsements represent the experiences and opinions of the people who submit them. SaidSaid does not guarantee that user-generated content is accurate or truthful.

Content is moderated for violations of SaidSaid's rules, and users can report or dispute content they believe violates those rules.

Sparks and Connections

What are Sparks?

A Spark lets you spark a connection with someone.

You can Spark someone for romantic interest, friendship, or an endorsement-related connection. If both people Spark each other, they become a mutual Spark and messaging becomes available.

How does messaging work?

Messaging becomes available when two people mutually Spark each other.

Once the Spark is mutual, a conversation can be opened and the two people can message each other.

AI Matching and the Bulletin Board

What is the Bulletin Board?

The Bulletin Board is your personalized place to see AI-powered match suggestions.

SaidSaid's matching system evaluates information such as your dating preferences, age range, location, relationship preferences, personality traits, and lifestyle preferences to generate daily suggestions.

The matching system runs regularly to refresh your suggestions. Match categories help you understand how strongly the system believes two profiles may fit, but a match is not a guarantee of compatibility or romantic success.

How does SaidSaid's AI matching work?

SaidSaid uses the information you provide about yourself and what you are looking for to calculate compatibility with other eligible profiles.

Current dating preferences include things such as age range, location, relationship preferences, personality traits, and lifestyle preferences.

The system looks for compatibility between both people's preferences rather than simply showing you profiles based on a single characteristic.

AI suggestions are intended to help you discover people. They are not endorsements or guarantees.

Are SaidSaid's AI matches guaranteed to be compatible?

No.

AI matching is designed to identify people who may be compatible based on the information available to SaidSaid. A match is a suggestion, not a guarantee that two people will be compatible or interested in each other.

Matchmaking

What is Matchmaking?

Matchmaking lets you help someone you care about find a match.

You can create a matchmaking profile for a friend, family member, sibling, coworker, or another person you are helping. You provide information about the person and what they are looking for, and SaidSaid generates match suggestions for you.

When you find someone promising, you can forward the profile to the person you're matchmaking for.

Matchmaking is free.

Can my friends or family help me find a match?

Yes.

SaidSaid lets people use Matchmaking to help someone they care about find potential matches. A friend, family member, sibling, coworker, or another person can help search for compatible profiles and forward promising profiles to you.

Does the person I'm matchmaking for have to join SaidSaid?

Yes, if they want to view the profiles you share with them.

You can create a Matchmaking profile for someone who does not yet have a SaidSaid account and find potential matches on their behalf. When you find a promising match, you can share the profile with them. They will need to create a SaidSaid account to view the shared profile.

What information does SaidSaid collect about someone I'm matchmaking for?

Matchmaking is designed to minimize the information collected about the person you're helping.

The matchmaker provides information such as the person's relationship to them, gender, target city and dating preferences. The matchmaking profile is used to generate matches and is not publicly displayed.

The matchmaker is responsible for having the knowledge and consent of the person they are matchmaking for.

Verification, Trust and Safety

Are the people on SaidSaid real?

SaidSaid is designed around accountability.

Every user verifies their phone number, and people who write date reviews must complete identity verification. SaidSaid also offers optional selfie and ID verification.

Verification does not guarantee someone's character, safety, or the accuracy of their reviews or endorsements.

ID verification: A one-time $2.99 verification used to establish eligibility to write date reviews.

Does SaidSaid do background checks?

No.

SaidSaid does not conduct criminal background checks on users. Optional identity verification helps establish accountability, but verification does not guarantee someone's character, safety, or the accuracy of their reviews or endorsements.

Is SaidSaid safe?

SaidSaid uses phone verification, identity verification for reviewers, AI moderation, reporting tools, blocking, and human review of moderation appeals to help create a safer dating environment.

No dating platform can guarantee someone's behavior or personal safety. Users should use good judgment and follow basic dating safety practices.

How is content moderated?

SaidSaid uses AI-powered moderation before content is published.

Reviews, responses, endorsements, and endorsement photos are screened for violations such as harassment, threats, hate speech, personally identifiable information, sexually explicit content, defamation, and fake or manipulated content.

Published content can also be flagged for review. AI handles the initial review, and users can appeal moderation decisions to a human moderator.

How do I report someone or content?

You can flag reviews, responses, endorsements, endorsement photos, and other content that you believe violates SaidSaid's rules.

You can also block users and contact SaidSaid support at support [at] saidsaid.com.

What happens when I report something?

Reported content is reviewed through SaidSaid's moderation process.

AI moderation is used to screen content, and users can appeal moderation decisions to a human moderator within the applicable appeal period.

What happens if I disagree with a review or other content?

If you believe published content violates SaidSaid's rules, you can flag it for review.

If you are the subject of a review and believe it contains false statements of fact or other prohibited content, you can also submit a content dispute.

Moderation decisions can be appealed to a human moderator within the applicable appeal period.

What should I do if I feel unsafe?

If you are in immediate danger, call 911.

On SaidSaid, you can block users and report content that violates the Community Guidelines. For an urgent safety concern involving content on SaidSaid, contact support and identify the issue as an urgent safety concern.

SaidSaid does not conduct criminal background checks, so users should use appropriate judgment and follow basic dating safety practices.
